Punta Uva Beach

Lodging on a jungle river!

Located in the beautiful Punta Uva region of the Southern Caribbean Coast of Costa Rica, within the Gandoca-Manzanillo Wildlife Refuge.

The world acclaimed Punta Uva beach is just 200 meters from PACHAMAMA at the mouth of our jungle river. Our river acts as a natural highway where on any given day Spider, White-Faced-Capuchins, and Howler monkeys are joined by sloths, toucans, parrots, hawks, hummingbirds, and butterflies to frolic in our lush tropical canopy and gardens.

What are people saying about Pachamama?Pachamama: So cool and shady is this place set within the confines of the Gandoca-Manznillo Wildlife Refuge that the owners took down the ceiling fans. No one ever needed them (Note: but we added them back in every room). Though still within sight of the Puerto Viejo-Manzanillo road, Pachamama delivers a get-away-from-it-all nature experience at a fraction of the cost of other Costa Rican eco-lodges. Cozy wood cabins are simply furnished with two beds and mosquito nets and colorful spreads and drapes. Personal touches such as breakfast brought to the porch of your cabin are standard. It is a place to be immersed in the peace of nature and leave stress behind.

The house terrace

We have a very tranquil atmosphere, only 2 bungalows and a one bedroom rental house set in gorgeous gardens. Both bungalows can also be rented together to make a 2 bedroom house. Quiet, Relaxing, and Private, with personalized attention. You can do as much, or as little, as you like during your stay at Pachamama.

Complimentary breakfast served each morning on the private terrace of the bungalow and breakfast is available in the bungalow with a kitchen and in the house. The bungalows and house all have regular maid service, a fully equipped kitchen (the bungalow without a kitchen has a mini-fridge) and other meal options and plans are available. On site we have ocean/river kayaks, bicycles, snorkeling/spearfishing/fishing equipment, and shopping, transportation, and laundry services available for our guests.

PACHAMAMA means Mother Earth.

Enjoy the beauty and tranquility of tropical nature, while still being steps (or paddles) from the beach and close to local restaurants and activities. You and Nature in perfect Balance, soothing, relaxing and feeling good... Of course the action at Pachamama centers around Punta Uva beach where you can relax in the sun or palm-shade, swim in the calm waters, snorkel the living reefs, beachcomb, hike, fish/spearfish, or take one of our kayaks up the river or out on the sea.

These activities are all right here at Pachamama, but being within the Gandoca Manzanillo Wildlife Refuge we also have a wide variety of wildlife frequenting the property and strongly recommend guided hiking, kayaking, or boating tours with local guides where you will experience an unforgettable array of flora and fauna. See our activities page for more information about things to do at and around PACHAMAMA.
